2026 National UI Conference in Salt Lake City, UT

The 2026 National UI Conference will be held May 12-15, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Please save the date and plan to attend next year.  Online registration will be available in mid-December, and a call for presentations will be coming out in the coming weeks for those interested in submitting a proposal to present at the conference.

Integrity Best Practices Alpine West

The integrity of the unemployment insurance system has been challenged in light of the consistent levels of fraud and overpayments in the state-based systems. Congress has acted to increase administrative funding available to states to assist in updating old systems that may be vulnerable to fraudsters and to address system capacity and verification of the identity of applicants for unemployment insurance. The panel will provide an update on the NASWA Integrity Center, and efforts to reduce fraud and overpayments in the system.

Identity Theft, UI Benefit Overpayment and Recovery (General Session)

In light of the dramatic increase in fraud and UI benefit overpayments, recovery of overpayments has become a priority for legislation and UI administration. The panel will discuss reports reviewing the scale of fraud and overpayments and methods that have been developed for states and federal agencies to avoid fraud, increase benefit overpayment recovery, and prosecute fraud. Labor Disputes and UI Eligibility Issues

New legislative enactments in Oregon and Washington amended the disallowance of benefits for striking workers and raise questions with federal law with respect to whether striking workers are available to work and actively seeking work to be eligible to be paid unemployment compensation. Federal officials, employer representatives and advocates for payment of benefits will review the status of federal and state law and application to labor disputes.

Conference Exhibitor Only: $2,500

You can participate in the Exhibitor show for $2,500, which includes an exhibitor table only.

The hotel is permitting us to keep the room block open until the hotel sells out, so don’t delay! Current retail prices are around $400/night, so this is a great deal!

Exhibitor Show

The exhibit show will be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during conference hours. Each Exhibitor space will include one six-foot table, two chairs, and trash. Each table will include power. Additional audio-visual equipment can be ordered through the hotel’s audio-visual company. Tables are on a first come first serve basis for sponsors. Sponsors are not required to staff a table
